Free guided tour in the main building of the University of Vienna!

Main reading room of the University Library

The University of Vienna is one of the oldest academic institutions in the world. Only recently it has celebrated its 650th anniversary, and with 90 000 students it is the biggest and one of the most prestigious universities in the German-speaking world. The guided tour is designed to introduce tourists and interested people in general to the historic building on the Ringstraße and provides an overview of the history of the University of Vienna. Starting in the Aula, the tour includes the Arcade Court, the main reading room of the University Library and the Main Ceremonial Hall with the copies of the original ceiling paintings by Gustav Klimt.
